Erica C.A. Hershler is a transplanted New Yorker who had the good fortune to move near Historic Huntley. She's been the publicity director for the Friends of Historic Huntley since 1992.

Erica is a librarian with the Fairfax County Public Library system. She's also worked as a editor for trade magazines and a copywriter for a medical book publisher. Her interests include reading, embroidery, jewelry making, and visiting little-known local history sites and cemeteries with friends (a pastime that her family finds strange!). She lives in Alexandria with her husband, daughter and son.

Her contribution to Fairfax County Stories 1607-2007 is entitled
Historic Huntley: An Architectural Treasure.
