Irene Martinko is 12 years old, and lives in Springfield with her parents, brother and her two pet gerbils. She wrote "The Ghost of Keene Mill School" when she was in fourth grade at Keene Mill Elementary School. She has completed a book for young readers, and is working on a sequel. One of her stories recently won an honorable mention from American Girl Magazine, and she has been profiled in the "Getting to Know.." feature of the Springfield Connection. Her other interests include ballet, clogging, singing, and horses.
